According to the Year End 2011 U.S. Foreclosure Market Report issued by Realty Trac, foreclosures are down 34% this year from last. This is the lowest level since 2007 and shows an improving housing market throughout the U.S.
Reuters is reporting that U.S. small business borrowing is the highest it has been since February of 2008. This is an invaluable economic indicator that suggests lending is up and business owner confidence is progressing. The Thomson Reuters/PayNet Small Business Lending Index – a measure of small business financing – is up 10 points just from last month.
We wrote an article last month about how consumer confidence was on an uptrend in November. There was more good news in December as the Consumer Confidence Index, which is compiled by the Conference Board went up nearly 10% from November. The rating is now at 64% for all Americans. The index is based on polling Americans on questions, such as, if they think business conditions are good or if jobs are hard to find.
